Spring Break Colombian Style...

Last year during spring break, I took a couple of friends on an eco-tour to several landmark destinations in the coastal regions of Colombia: Coveñas, Tolu, and the San Bernardo Islands in the Golfo de Morrosquillo.

In Coveñas, the first leg of the tour we settled in a cabin and rented a boat that took us to the San Bernardo Islands. There, we did some snorkeling while the girls took a sunbath. Afterwards we went to the Isla Palma Zoo, where we took a close look at various marine life, including a rather menacing shark. The San Bernardo Islands are part of a formation of islands that run all the way from the Cartagena coastline.

Look at me holding a shark by the tail!!!

Marine turtles and pink flamingos, part of the diverse wildlife Isla Palma Zoo has to offer.
